Your priest will advise you which of the following ceremonies is right for you.

1. During Mass ( Nuptial Mass) - Ceremony will include the distribution of Holy Communion

This ceremony is usually chosen when two Catholics marry. We provide all the approved text for a Nuptial Mass. Please consult with your priest or deacon to determine the amount of text that is to be included in your wedding programs, if a wedding program is an option at your parish.


2. Outside of Mass ( Liturgy of the Word) - Ceremony Usually Conducted Without Distribution of Holy Communion

This ceremony is usually chosen when a Catholic marries someone from a different Christian faith. We provide all the approved text for a Liturgy of the Word. Please consult with your priest or deacon to determine the amount of text that is to be included in your wedding programs, if a wedding program is an option at your parish.


3. Marriage Between a Catholic and an Unbaptized Person
( Liturgy of the Word) - Ceremony without the distribution of Holy Communion

This ceremony is always chosen when a Catholic is marrying someone not baptized in a Christian faith. We provide all the approved text for this Rite. Please consult with your priest or deacon to determine the amount of text that is to be included in your wedding programs, if a wedding program is an option at your parish.
